Saturn (Shani) is a very slow moving planet and it approximately takes 2.5 years to move from one house to another. Sade Saati in English means seven and a half. Sade Sati period represents a 7.5 years of Saturn’s transit over three houses of a native’s birth chart. When Saturn enters the 12th house from the Moon in the birth chart, the period of Sade Sati is said to have begun. Saturn will transit this house in 2.5 years then it will enter the house where Moon is placed in the birth horoscope and there after the last phase of Sade Sati period begins when Saturn transits the 2nd house from Moon in the birth chart.
Sade Sati period is divided in to 3 phases: Phase 1 is called Rising, Phase 2 is called Peak and Phase 3 is called Setting. Sade Sati gives maximum results during its peak.
